Arora MD Longevity & Aesthetics in East Brunswick, NJ offers advanced medical testing beyond routine blood work: genetic testing (including how you respond to certain medications), biological age testing that looks at markers such as telomere length and inflammation, and a metabolic evaluation including resting metabolic rate, nutrient status and hormone levels. Results are reviewed in a consultation and turned into a personal plan.

Advanced testing & diagnostics

Who it’s for

The first conversation is about you, not a protocol. You may be a good fit if:

  • A family history of heart disease, diabetes or cancer
  • Unexplained fatigue, weight gain or hormone symptoms
  • Interest in prevention and a longer healthspan

How it works

What to expect

  1. Choose the tests

Your goals and history decide which tests make sense.

  2. Prepare

Metabolic evaluations usually need an 8-hour fast; genetic testing typically needs no preparation.

  3. Results consult

Your provider walks you through the results in detail and builds an action plan.

  4. Track progress

For biological age and metabolic testing, follow-ups may be suggested to measure change.

For hormone and longevity consults, please book at least two weeks ahead: our team sends a lab order for Quest, Labcorp or another participating lab, typically covered by insurance.

Three kinds of testing

Each answers a different question about your health.

  • Genetic testing: risk markers for cardiovascular, metabolic conditions and cancer, hereditary conditions, and how your body may respond to certain medications
  • Biological age: how your body is aging inside, from markers such as telomere length, cellular function and inflammation
  • Metabolic evaluation: resting metabolic rate, nutrient absorption and hormone levels such as thyroid and insulin

Why it is useful

Knowing your predispositions allows prevention to be tailored. Finding insulin resistance, inflammation or nutrient gaps can explain low energy or weight changes, and repeat testing shows whether your plan is working.

Questions

Advanced testing & diagnostics: common questions

How is this different from standard blood tests?

It adds in-depth analyses, such as genetic testing, metabolic assessment and biological age, for a fuller view of your health and long-term risks.

Do I need to fast?

Metabolic evaluations may require fasting, usually at least 8 hours; genetic testing typically does not. You get specific instructions for your tests.

Can testing help with weight management?

A metabolic evaluation can reveal hormone imbalances or metabolic inefficiencies that affect your ability to manage weight.

How often should I be tested?

It depends on your goals and history. Some patients test yearly; others every few years.

Can it find early signs of chronic disease?

That is one of its main purposes: spotting early risk for conditions such as heart disease and diabetes so prevention can start sooner.
