What to expect
Consultation
Dr. Arora assesses the area under your chin and works out how many injections and sessions you are likely to need.
Treatment
A numbing cream may be applied, a grid is marked on the skin, and small injections go into the fat under the chin. About 20 to 30 minutes.
Aftercare
Swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising is normal for a few days. Most people return to normal activities within 24 to 48 hours.
Follow-up
Sessions are spaced about four to six weeks apart; most patients need 2 to 4 in total.
How Kybella works
The active ingredient, deoxycholic acid, occurs naturally in the body and helps it absorb dietary fat. Injected under the chin, it destroys fat cells there, and once those cells are gone they do not come back.
Because the change builds gradually as the body clears the treated cells, the result looks natural rather than sudden. Keeping a healthy lifestyle helps keep fat from building up elsewhere.
After each session
Some swelling or tenderness in the first days is part of healing.

- Use a cold compress for swelling
- Stay hydrated and avoid heavy exercise for 48 hours
