Arora MD Longevity & Aesthetics in East Brunswick, NJ offers microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy. Fine sterile needles create controlled micro-injuries that trigger the skin’s own healing, building collagen and elastin to soften fine lines, acne scars, large pores and uneven texture. Sessions take 30 to 60 minutes, redness usually fades in 24 to 48 hours, and most patients have 3 to 6 treatments 4 to 6 weeks apart.

Microneedling

Who it’s for

The first conversation is about you, not a protocol. You may be a good fit if:

  • Fine lines and early wrinkles
  • Acne scars or other scarring
  • Rough or uneven texture and tone
  • Enlarged pores
  • Not suitable with active acne, severe rosacea or a skin infection

Your options

Microneedling, with exosomes, or VIVA MD?

All three build collagen for lines, scars and texture. They differ in what is added after the needling and how deep the energy reaches.

Microneedling

Fine needles create controlled micro-injuries that prompt new collagen. 30 to 60 minutes with numbing cream; redness for 24 to 48 hours; usually 3 to 6 sessions.

Microneedling with exosomes

The same treatment, then a growth-factor topical applied through the fresh channels to support healing. 45 to 60 minutes; suits all skin types.

VIVA™ MD resurfacing

Fractional radiofrequency heats deeper layers while renewing the surface, for scars, texture and pigmentation. Suits darker skin; usually 3 to 5 sessions.

Which one suits you depends on your skin and what you want to change. We recommend one at your consultation.

How it works

What to expect

  1. Consultation

We assess your skin and goals to confirm microneedling is the right choice for you.

  2. Before treatment

Avoid sun, retinoids and exfoliating products for several days. A numbing cream may be applied on the day.

  3. Treatment

A fine-needle device is pressed or rolled over the area. Most people feel a light prickling. About 30 to 60 minutes.

  4. Aftercare and follow-up

Expect redness like a mild sunburn for 24 to 48 hours. Avoid the sun and use gentle, hydrating products. A series is usually advised.

What microneedling can do

Because it works beneath the surface, microneedling changes the skin’s structure rather than just coating it.

  • Builds new collagen and elastin for firmer skin
  • Softens fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improves acne scars and other scars
  • Evens tone and texture
  • Helps serums absorb more deeply afterwards

Questions

Microneedling: common questions

Is microneedling painful?

Most patients find it comfortable. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand, and the sensation is a light prickling.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your skin and goals; 3 to 6 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart is typical.

What is the downtime?

Minimal: slight redness and swelling for 24 to 48 hours. Avoid sun and harsh products while you heal.

When will I see results?

Texture can look better soon after, but the full effect builds over 4 to 6 weeks as collagen forms.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

Yes, for example with chemical peels or facials. We will suggest a plan at your consultation.
