Botox, fillers or Kybella: which does what?

Botox relaxes the muscles behind expression lines such as forehead lines, the 11s and crow’s feet; hyaluronic acid fillers restore volume and shape to lips, cheeks, under-eyes and the jawline; and Kybella breaks down fat under the chin over a few sessions. At Arora MD Longevity & Aesthetics in East Brunswick, NJ, Dr. Mudit Arora often combines them in one facial balancing plan.

Botox for movement lines

Lines that appear when you frown, raise your brows or smile come from muscle movement. Botox softens them by relaxing those muscles, and typically lasts about three to four months.

Fillers for volume and shape

Where the change is lost volume or shape, hyaluronic acid fillers restore it: lips, cheeks, under-eyes, smile lines and the jawline. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved if needed.

Kybella for fullness under the chin

Kybella breaks down fat beneath the chin over two to four sessions spaced weeks apart. It does not tighten loose skin.

Balancing them together

A face is read as a whole, so treatments are planned together rather than one area at a time, with the aim of results that look natural and keep your own features.
